SAY HELLO TO THE NEW JUSTIN BIEBER...

Justin Bieber better watch out - there's a new YouTube sensation vying for his pop crown in the form of a fellow Canadian, ten-year-old Heather Russell.

Heather, who's already been compared to Mariah Carey, is causing ripples across the web after her soulful rendition of Every Step of the Way went viral. The YouTube video of her performance was posted online last July and has since racked up almost 100,000 views. In the video, she's accompanied by dad James on guitar. Her skills have already grabbed the attention of Grammy-winning producer Rob Fusari, the man responsible for mentoring a certain Lady Gaga (comment by one viewer: 'She's way better than Lady Gaga'), and rumour has it a debut album could be on its way. 'At five years old she had a vibrato; at eight years old Heather wrote her first song on the piano called Beautiful,' Fusari says on his website. 'At nine, Ashton Kutcher tweeted about her to Demi Moore [and] Ellen DeGeneres wants her on the show.' In 2007, Baby warbler Bieber was discovered on YouTube by his current manager after his mum posted videos of him singing pop tunes. A record deal followed soon after, before true success arrived just this week in the form of James Corden's aforementioned Brit awards 'man crush'. You have it all to look forward to, Heather.

UPDATE: Heather has reportedly been signed by X Factor supremo Simon Cowell.
