JACKSON'S AMAZING O2 REHEARSAL PIX - 2 DAYS LATER THAT WAS IT....

These are the images of Michael Jackson which millions of fans were hoping to see firsthand at his sell-out gigs at London's O2 arena.

Taken just two days before his death, the pictures reveal how the King of Pop looked fit and healthy and was ready to give the performance of his life. Towering at the front of the stage and hailing the would-be crowd with a finger point salute, Jacko's was rehearsing in LA ahead of his 50 gig stretch. Any doubt that the superstar would not be able to pull off his famous moonwalk and stage slides were dispelled by witnesses to the warm-ups. 'Michael was in better former than for years. He was preparing for what would have been an absolutely incredible show.''He was laughing and joking with his dancers. He seemed to have so much energy – it's hard to believe 48 hours later he was dead,' a source told The Sun. The set of pictures also reveal Jacko was ready to take things back to basics, wearing one of his trade mark hats with his hair pegged back in a ponytail in one costume ensemble. He was laughing and joking with his dancers. He seemed to have so much energy – it's hard to believe 48 hours later he was dead.

Flanked by young dancers in the pictures, a perspirating Jackson looks like he could easily keep up with his young pretenders even at the age of 50. In the background, a set equally as impressive, used an urban factory structure to house more dancers that writhed about in window frames. A second backdrop shows Michael's tour slogan 'This Is It' brandish behind him as he leads another high energy dance routine. Other snaps show the performer smiling as he practiced his classic back catalogue. There are now whispers that the final footage of Jackson's final run through will be edited down and screened to heartbroken fans.
